WonderKids 2022 – 2023

What is a WonderKid? WonderWorks’ WonderKids program highlights student achievement in and around the classroom. Part of WonderWorks’ educational mission is to make science fun and entertaining. WonderKids is a way to recognize students in the community who not only take an interest in science, but also those who have pushed themselves beyond what they thought was possible. We invite you to nominate the student of your choice in either of the following categories:

Strength Through Adversity – This award will go to a student who demonstrates resilience in the face of adversity. They proved, through determination, that growth and achieving their goals is possible during this demanding time.

Future Scientist – This award will go to a student who exhibits a passion for the sciences. They live each day as innovators and discoverers, hoping to change the world one day through their love of science.

The 2022 WonderKids program is open to all students from South and North Carolina. Nominations are due by January 6, 2023. This year’s nominees will get 4 tickets to WonderWorks and a video from Astronaut Dr. Don Thomas congratulating them on their nomination, plus a WonderKids nomination certificate. The winners will receive a special invitation to an exclusive live zoom/webinar meeting with Dr. Thomas, 4 tickets to WonderWorks, and a certificate of achievement in their winning category. This online event will be in conjunction with our other WonderWorks properties and will include a total of 12 families. The live webinar will occur Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. EST.
